Prof. K. Madhu Murthy

Prof. (Dr.) Kotha Madhu Murthy assumed charge as Chancellor (I/c) on 18.04.2025. An accomplished academician and administrator, he is currently serving as the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). With over 37 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and Entrepreneurship, he has made significant contributions to higher education policy, research, and institutional development.

Prior to his current role, Prof. Murthy was a Professor (HAG) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW), where he also served as a Member of the Board of Governors . His leadership roles at NITW included Dean (Faculty Welfare), Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and Registrar (Additional Charge). He also held the position of Registrar at NIT Delhi.

Prof. Murthy holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Warangal (now NITW), an M.Tech. in IC Engines & amp; Gas Turbines, a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, and a PG Diploma in Business Administration. His research expertise encompasses IC engines, biofuels, solar energy, and rocket propellants, with numerous publications in reputed journals.

Beyond academia, he has contributed to national policy as an Advisor at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), focusing on policy formulation, governance restructuring, and curriculum reforms. Internationally, he served as a LEDA Management Advisor for UNDP/ILO in Cambodia and collaborated with Samsung India Software Organization on HR and training initiatives.

A Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India), Andhra Pradesh Akademi of Sciences, and the Indian Institution of Production Engineers, Prof. Murthy has been instrumental in entrepreneurship and skill development initiatives, establishing incubation centers, and enhancing campus placements. His accolades include the British Council TCTP Fellowship (1996) under the Indo-UK RECs Project, four Best Paper Awards, and a Lifetime Achievement Recognition for his impact on engineering education and entrepreneurship development.

As Chairman of APSCHE, Prof. Murthy is spearheading reforms in higher education policy, academic innovation, and industry-academia collaboration, aiming to build a robust, future-ready education system in Andhra Pradesh.

Faculty members at RGUKT Srikakulam played a crucial role by providing continuous mentoring, academic guidance, and structured preparation strategies, including mock tests and technical training sessions. The university officials congratulated the students on their success and expressed confidence that they will secure admissions in premier institutes such as IITs and IISc or obtain excellent opportunities in public sector undertakings (PSUs) and research organizations. A felicitation ceremony was also organized at the campus to honor the achievers, where faculty and fellow students appreciated their remarkable accomplishments.
