Mr. Ravi Gedela

Mr. Ravi Gedela is a holder of a Master of Technology (M.Tech) with Biotechnology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (2011), a Master of Science (M.Sc) with Biochemistry from Andhra University Visakhapatnam (2008), and a Bachelor of Science with Biochemistry, Zoology and Chemistry of Silver Jubilee Government College (APRDC) Kurnool (2006) from Sri Krishna Devarayal University, Anantapur. He received fellowships for Postgraduate studies (M.Sc and M.Tech) for two years from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Currently, he is engaged in pursuing a Ph.D. through external mode in the Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering (BSBE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.

Mr. Gedela presently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology & Biosciences since July 14, 2012 and has been functioning as the Head of the Department since February 18, 2021. In addition, he is currently the Dean of Students Welfare at RGUKT-Srikakulam, having assumed the role from December 28, 2021, onwards. Concurrently, he serves as the Chairman of the Students Disciplinary Committee. Previously, Mr. Gedela served as the Associate Dean of Academics at RGUKT - Srikakulam campus from September 9, 2022, to November 28, 2022. He has been a Member of the Board of Studies for the Department of Biology & Biosciences at RGUKT – campuses since February 18, 2018.

Before his current roles, Mr. Gedela held the position of Head of the Department for Biosciences and served as the former Associate Dean of Student Welfare (August 23, 2018, to February 26, 2021) and former Deputy Warden for the boys' hostel (December 2, 2016, to January 10, 2018) at RGUKT-Nuzvid Campus. Additionally, he worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for one year in a project funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, at IITG (2011-12).

As a co-founder of the Student Development Campus Activities Cell (SDCAC) in RGUKT Nuzvid (2013), Mr. Gedela has played a pivotal role in developing it into a significant platform for students' technical activities on campus. He is also the founder of the Student Gymkhana Center (SGC) in RGUKT-Srikakulam (2022), offering a platform for various extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including technical, cultural, sports, NSS, music, yoga, and fine arts.

In addition to his academic responsibilities, Mr. Gedela has been actively involved in organizing and participating in various tech fests, cultural fests, workshops, and conferences, contributing significantly to the academic and cultural environment at RGUKT.

Furthermore, he is the founder and president of Manyapragathi (2014-2019), a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the welfare of indigenous people. Presently, he serves as the acting Chairperson of Manyapragathi (2020). His initiatives include the establishment of the National e-tribal museum in 2020 for the preservation of tribal cultural heritage and the founding of Virtual Biodiversity to raise awareness and educate people on biodiversity and conservation. Mr. Gedela has also pioneered Digital Innovation Learning Clusters (DILE), aiming to integrate technology into remote tribal communities and bring about positive change in their lives.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Srikakulam, proudly announces that Dr. M.
